Methi Puri Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cup pearl millet
  • 2 tablespoon refined oil
  • 2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/4 cup fenugreek leaves ( methi)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon carom seeds
  • salt as required
  • 1 tablespoon red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • refined oil as required

How to make Methi Puri

Step 1

To prepare this puri recipe, take a dough kneading plate and mix together whole wheat flour, fenugreek leaves, pearl millet (bajra), cumin seeds, coriander powder, turmeric, red chilli powder, ginger, carom seeds and salt. Now, add water and knead it to make a thick dough and keep aside for 15-20 minutes.

Step 2

Take a small ball from the dough and roll it to make a medium size puri. Repeat the process to make more such puris.

Step 3

Place a kadhai over low flame and heat oil in it. Once the oil is hot enough, carefully place the puri in the kadhai and deep fry them till they turn golden brown in colour.

Step 4

Finally, transfer the poori on a tissue paper and drain the excess oil. Serve hot.
